Here you will find the progressions generated by the Node as color values.

Distance [-∞..+∞]

The values output here lie between 0 and 1 and define a linear progression of brightness in the area between the center of the shape and the star’s outer edges. A value of 0 is output for the star’s center point. The values increase towards the edge to a maximum of 1. The area of the background color is generally output with a value of 1. The star’s anti-aliasing plays no role for this output.

Mask [-∞..+∞]

This numeric value has a range of between 0 and 1 and denotes the area of the star in which the star lies, including anti-aliasing. The completely opaque areas of the star are given an output value of 1, and the anti-aliased edges have values ranging from 0 to 1. A value of 0 is generally output for the open background area.
